New Possibilities

Ok, so as anyone reading my blog knows I haven't been posting anything for quite a while. I have been making stuff, tons of stuff. But Instagram keeps getting the updates and my blog has been left behind. So I've decided to try something completely new. So there are going to be some changes (look and how I blog). I'm not going to be deleting any posts though they will be moved around some. Thanks for understanding.

Any way please check out my etsy shop, there are some cute Despicable Me minions, and I'm gonna try to get some evil ones in there too. (As soon as I get back)

Well wish me luck. Bye for now.

Out With The Old and In With The New

Ok, so I've decided to delete Shadow Hollow. I haven't been writing on it, so there is no point in having it. If you want one of the Who's-its, you can comment or email me.

Now for the "In With The New" part. I've started a new blog!!! It's called Dragons Nest Hatchery (I'm still working on a name). It's going to be solely devoted to dragons; crochet, drawing, etc. Since I LOVE dragons there will probably be quite a few posts.

Also I have some new patterns in progress, they should be coming out this month. TTYL

Baby Dragon Revisit (Bird-like Dragon and Harness)

Ok, so since my last post I have had a request for my dad to make him a bird-like dragon with a harness, so I though I'd tell you how I did that.

Bird Dragon:
1. You only have to make the back legs (it is resembling a bird after all).
2. a. using a long piece of yarn and needle
    b. insert into the base of the tail at the top
    c. push though till you reach the chin (under the ears)
    d. loop around a stitch (make sure its going to face the way you want it)
    e. skip a row and insert back into body
    f. push through till you reach the point where you entered
    g. take off the needle and pull ends tight
    h. tie securely and weave in ends
3. The wing need to be brought forward one row (roughly the row you would put the front legs, just higher).
4. The back legs, should be placed at an angle, lower on the body (anchor them tightly so it can stand up).
All done!!!
Harness:
Because these little guys never come out quite the same this is going to be a little vague. But this will work for either type of dragon. (If you have any questions please comment)
1. Pick a color and find your F hook.
2. Leaving a tail chain until you have a loop that fits around the neck of your dragon, leave tail fasten off.
3. Do the same for just behind the wings.
4. Lay both side over their respective places, and half knot the alternating tails of each chain (right of neck to left of body and vice-versa) then take two tail in each hand and half knot again.
5. Pull tight, and weave ends into harness.
Technically you are done, but there is one more thing you can do (It's helpful if you want to hang it from something).
6. Leave tail chain length that stretches from back to front of the top of the harness, leave tail.
7. Secure to both end and weave in ends.

Baby Dragon

Sorry it's been so long, I've been busy (going to MI, drawing, stuff like that). Anyway I have a new pattern! I kinda got the idea from a pattern I found on Ravelry called Mighty Ferocious Dragon (actually if you read both patterns over you see that the first 4 row are the same and three rows 18-20 in the tail are the same as well). This pattern makes a perfect baby for this dragon. Ok, enough rambling, pattern time!!

NOTE:
For eye you can use small safety eyes (3 or 4mm would work nicely. No bigger than 6mm) or you could embroider them on, or seed beads (I probably would not use them with little children though)

Sorry

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted something. I've been a little distracted and uninspired, but hopefully I'll get inspired soon. Actually I think I just thought of something. Yes, persons, sherlock Holmes, The Once-ler, Phantom of the Opera. I think I've got something here!
More posts coming soon, promise. Bye, I have work to do!!!

Yarn

I finally found almost perfect skin color!!! It's not like the normal worst weight yarn, but it's thin enough that it looks fine.

It's called: Patons- beehive baby chunky
and the color is called bigger beige.

Note: the smallest hook I've tested size difference with is E.

All Done

Well that took longer than expected. Acutely it didn't, I was procrastinating. Part of it was a little bit of a pain, and when things get complicated, I slow down. :P
